University of Calgary Awards David Teece an Honorary Doctorate
The University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business awarded David Teece an honorary doctorate at the school’s convocation ceremony.
Dr. Teece's speech urged graduates to take risks and not be afraid to fail:
“In my view, opportunities are everywhere and nowhere at the same time. There are several ways you can sneak up on them. Three are paramount: Stay curious. Go a bit off the beaten trail in your career… Embrace mistakes. And let me tell you, making mistakes isn't a bad idea. It is not a disgrace–that is, if you know how to learn from mistakes.”
